What is the Tornados Academy?
The Tornados Academy is the Academy Soccer Program of The Tornados Soccer Club, The Select Soccer Program of New Braunfels. The Tornados Soccer Club offers year round professional coaching to boys and girls aged 7-18.
The Academy Program focus on soccer players aged U8-U10. With professional coaching, you can choose to play either 6 months in the Fall or 6 Months in the Spring - Alternatively, those that are seriously committed can choose the 12 month option.
Our players train twice a week with their selected coach. They also have the opportunity to train a further twice a week on skills or goal keeping. We hold a street soccer evening on Fridays for player to come out and play small sided games with other kids in the program.
The emphasis of our Academy is the long term development and education of the player, rather than winning or losing. We strive to create an enjoyable atmosphere where the player feels the confidence to express themselves and achieve great success. We maintain high standards and work extremely closely on continuous improvement in all areas of the game. the perfection and correction of technique is the Key area in which we work. Focusing on technique, we challenge the player to make the correct tactical decision. Using 1v1, 2v1, 2v2, 3v2 and so on, the players are challenged to making their own clear conscious decisions. Making mistakes is very welcome, with the emphasis of realizing and rectifying on a personal level.
Program Fees 6 Months - $397.50 12 Months - $795 Costs include the following - Nike Uniform, Pro Trainer Fees, 1 tournament per 6 months, Referee Fees, Field usage fee, Everything included except extra tournaments. $150 Deposit with recurring monthly payments. Welcome to the Rapids Academy Section! The Rapids Developmental Program is much like the Select program in many ways. Each team would be provided with 2 nights a week of professional training from one of our qualified trainers (same coaches used at select). We are the bridge between Recreational soccer and select. The difference between playing Academy and Rec can be quite significant. What sets us apart from other Academies in the Area is the quality of coaching they receive from the best staff. Along with this we follow a a curriculum that is recognized a the highest level in the form of Coerver. Coerver Pyramid of Coaching focuses on Ball Mastery, Receiving and Passing, Moves 1v1, Speed, Finishing and Group play. We seek to find the best in our players by coaching the importance of technique and how their technique will be carried out in games.
We also look to teach our players how to be better people on and off the field.
Training will commence early August and continue through until the 3rd week of December. The season itself will not begin until sometime in September and finish in November. Each team will play roughly 10 games against other select clubs from the Greater San Antonio area. 5 of which will be played at home (HEB Fields). The other 5 will most likely be played in San Antonio.
The Academy Programs spring season will return in January and continue through until May. We will also be look to enter our teams into tournaments before and after each season. (TBC) As our program has grown we have seen a sharp increase of talent. As small as New Braunfels is, we pride ourselves on top quality training which in turn has helped our kids to compete at the highest level in the Greater San Antonio Area. |
